The Trilogy of Power or Neurosis, consisting of INDIGINE SU CITTADINO AL DI SOPRA DI OGNI SOSPETTO (1969), LA CLASSE OPERAIA VA IN PARADISO (1971) and LA PROPRIETA NON E PIU UN FURTO (1973), put director Elio Petri at the center of controversy in international cinema. With these films, he laid the foundation for a new vision of the Italian reality of the late 1960s. It was a time during which Petri experienced the student struggles, the red and black terrorism, the Piazza Fontana massacre, the death of Pinelli at the hands of the authorities, the growth of the Mafia and clientelism. He experienced it all firsthand and wanted to tell the story.
Ennio Morricone created a particular sound for Petri's social cinema based on grotesque forms and adding profane elements to the music itself. They formed one of the most special and memorable duos in 1970s Italian cinema, working together on seven films.
Quartet Records, in collaboration wth Cinevox Records, GDM and Universal Music Publishing Italia, is proud to have been able to bring the three albums of the TRILOGIA DEL POTERE back to the market, with completely remastered sound. This strictly limited edition of 300 copies is an opportunity to present the three albums together, housed in an exclusive slipcase. The three scores are presented on separate CDs in separate jewel cases (exactly the same as the separate ones), supervised by Claudio Fuiano and carefully mastered by Chris Malone from the first-generation master tapes. They are complemented by richly illustrated booklets containing detailed essays on the films and scores written by Miguel Angel Ordonez.
